01/16/2025 – Response to 340B ACCESS Act Sign-on Letter

Several patient and provider organizations sent a letter to the House Energy and Commerce committee in October 2025 supporting legislation opposed by RWC-340B and driven by the pharmaceutical industry – 340B Affording Care for Communities and Ensuring a Strong Safety-Net Act (340B ACCESS Act).

RWC-340B’s response letter to the patient and provider groups called out the letter’s false narratives borrowed from drug industry talking points and urged these groups to align with Ryan White clinics instead of the drug industry.  The patient/provider letter appears to be yet another attempt by the drug industry to use other voices to work against their own interests and the interests of the safety net.

Our letter focused on how Ryan White clinics and patient and provider groups have the same goals, to help patients and preserve our nation’s safety net.  The letter also dispels the drug industry falsehoods about the 340B program – hospitals markup drugs to generate massive profits, no evidence of patient benefit, taxpayer cost, and lack of oversight and transparency.

Several of the organizations replied to our message offering to have discussions which are ongoing.  The letter was sent to the following patient and provider organizations that signed onto the 340B ACCESS Act support letter.  As part of our ongoing mission to educate allies on the value and importance of the 340B program, we ask you to review the list of organizations to help us educate these groups.
